History
The baroque-classicist complex was built as a summer and hunting residence of the Weimar court. The arrangement of light pavilions stretches along a long pond.
The park was developed by, among others, Hermann Fürst von Pückler-Muskau and Carl Eduard Petzold. The complex is gradually being restored.
Zamiast zwartej bryły zamku spotykamy rezydencję otwartą na wodę i zieleń. Układ pawilonów przypomina o letnim oraz myśliwskim przeznaczeniu, a odbicia fasad w jeziorze stanowią charakterystyczny obraz zespołu.
Park nosi ślady pracy wybitnych projektantów krajobrazu, dlatego warto obserwować osie widokowe, grupy drzew i prowadzenie ścieżek. Oprowadzanie przybliża także trwający proces odzyskiwania rezydencji.
