History
The palace was built at the end of the 17th century as the new residence of the Saxe-Meiningen dynasty. It was named in honor of Princess Elisabeth Eleonore.
In the 19th century, the Meiningen court became the European center of theater and music reform. The collections document the activities of Prince George II, the orchestra and artists associated with the city.
Ekspozycje muzyczne przypominają o randze orkiestry i artystach związanych z miastem.
