History
Henneberg gave its name to a powerful family and a historic land covering part of today's southern Thuringia and Franconia. The origins of the stronghold date back to the 11th century.
The ruin has preserved its monumental fortifications, tower and relics of the chapel. Community care for the facility allows it to be visited safely.
