History
The medieval castle was expanded in the modern era into a modern fortress surrounded by two moats. During the Peasants' War, Thomas Müntzer was imprisoned here.
The clear arrangement of bastions and ramparts allows you to understand the transformation of the castle into an artillery fortification.
