History
The medieval stronghold was rebuilt into a Renaissance castle, and in the 19th century, Prince George II of Meiningen gave it a romantic look.
After a fire and many years of restoration, Veste Heldburg became the seat of the Deutsches Burgenmuseum, which tells the story of everyday life in the castles.
Deutsches Burgenmuseum pokazuje architekturę, życie mieszkańców i przemiany zamków w szerokiej perspektywie.
