History
Belvedere was built in 1724–1748 as the summer residence of Prince Ernst August. The central pavilion and side wings were modeled on representative baroque designs.
The park was later transformed into a landscape garden with a rich collection of plants. The complex belongs to the classic Weimar inscribed on the UNESCO list.
