History
The Bastille is a fragment of the earlier Hornstein Castle, which preceded today's city palace. Nikolaus Gromann rebuilt the medieval gate in the 16th century.
Although the Residenzschloss remains closed for renovation, the Bastille, which is open to the public, allows you to learn about the history of the band and Johann Sebastian Bach's connections with Weimar.
