History
The complex consists of the Old Palace, a Renaissance palace and the Rococo summer residence of the princes of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach. Different eras meet here on one rock edge.
Dornburg was the court's favorite vacation spot; in 1828 Goethe spent several weeks here. The gardens are famous for roses, vines and distant views.

- Rokokoschloss 2 April–1 November, every day except Wednesday 10:00–17:00; gardens from 9:00 a.m. to sunset. The Renaissance palace is closed for renovation.
